Gulf Bank Appoints Hani Al Awadhi as General Manager of Investments

Gulf Bank has announced the appointment of Mr. Hani Al Awadhi as General Manager of Investments, effective August,1 2022, following the approval obtained from the Central Bank of Kuwait.

Gulf Bank’s latest appointment falls within the framework of its policy to promote national talents and empower local hires in leadership positions, which is an essential part of the Bank’s ongoing strategy for the year 2025.

Al Awadhi has over 20 years’ worth of experience in the investment realm both locally and abroad. Prior to Gulf Bank, Al Awadhi served as the head of managed funds and acting head of GCC equities at the Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC), managing international investments in hedge funds, private equities, real estate, infrastructure, and more. Al Awadhi also held numerous prominent leadership roles across multiple major financial institutions.

With extensive knowledge in alternative investments portfolio construction, implementation, and monitoring, Al Awadhi also helped to construct and maintain one of the three largest hedge fund investment programs in the region. Locally, he also participated in the successful listing of Shamal Azzour in Boursa Kuwait. Al Awadhi also holds multiple directorships.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
