As part of its strategy to expand and diversify its investment products and offerings, Gulf Capital Investment Company K.S.C.C. “InvestGB”, the investment arm of Gulf Bank, announced that it has received preliminary approval from the Capital Markets Authority to establish the Al Bader KD Islamic GCC Equity Fund, a Sharia-compliant investment fund with a variable capital ranging from KD 2 million to KD 500 million.
The Al Bader KD Islamic GCC Equity Fund is the third fund launched by InvestGB since its establishment two years ago, following the strong success achieved by the Lulwa Money Market Funds in Kuwaiti Dinars and US Dollars. The fund aims to achieve long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in Sharia-compliant equities listed on GCC stock exchanges, as well as in companies expected to list through initial public offerings (IPOs) within GCC markets.
The fund is open to both individual and institutional investors in Kuwait, across the GCC, and internationally. It offers weekly subscription and redemption opportunities, providing investors with regular liquidity and flexibility in managing their investments. The minimum initial subscription amount is KD 5,000, with additional investments accepted in increments of KD 100.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdulrahman Ahmad Al Khubaizi, Deputy General Manager of Wealth Management at Gulf Bank, said: “We are pleased to have Gulf Bank appointed as subscription agent for the Al Bader Islamic GCC Equity Fund. This launch comes as an extension of our ongoing efforts to expand the range of Sharia compliant investment solutions available to our clients, complementing our existing wealth management services and strengthening our ability to meet the evolving investment needs of our clients while enhancing access to professionally managed Sharia-compliant investment opportunities.”
For his part, Mr. Talal Jamal Al Khamis, Director of Equities and Fixed Income at InvestGB, said: “The Al Bader KD Islamic GCC Equity Fund reflects InvestGB’s commitment to delivering differentiated investment solutions that provide investors with access to the growth potential of GCC equity markets while adhering to the standards of Sharia compliance. We believe the GCC markets are well positioned to generate long-term capital growth by investing in high-quality companies across the region.” He added that the fund will use the S&P GCC Composite Shariah Large Midcap 5/10/40 Capped Index (KWD) as its benchmark, enabling investors to evaluate the fund’s performance against a recognized GCC Sharia-compliant equity market index. All fund holdings will be screened and monitored in accordance with Sharia principles by an independent specialized Sharia adviser.
Since its establishment, InvestGB has continued to broaden its investment platform through the launch of innovative products and strategic partnerships with leading global asset managers, reinforcing its ability to deliver world-class investment solutions tailored to the needs of investors in Kuwait and the wider region.
Clients can subscribe to the fund and review the prospectus, the fund’s articles of association, and all other details by visiting any branch of Gulf Bank in its capacity as subscription agent, or through InvestGB’s offices located in Al Hamra Business Tower.
